What survived and what did not
Archive notes.
I wanted a complete archive, not a pretend one. That means keeping the original words, using every recovered picture that belongs to a published page, and admitting where the Internet Archive came back empty-handed.
The ground rules
Clean up the frame. Do not rewrite the picture.
The original wording, spelling, jokes, opinions, and occasional overshare remain. I removed obsolete menus, scripts, trackers, broken image boxes, and outside links that no longer belong in a live site. Recovered local links now point to the recovered pages.
Exact publication dates were not stored on every page. The timeline uses an exact date when one survived in the title or page copy. Otherwise it uses the named site era—Old School, Year Two, San Francisco, Year Three, or Phase Four—or the first Internet Archive capture. Every page says which method was used.
Pages not published on the timeline
Most of these were picture pages with no pictures. Putting up an empty box and calling it history felt dumb. One résumé was also left out because it contained obsolete personal contact information that does not need a second life.

Other old shells
The separate Rants, Raves, Random, template, and old homepage files were navigation furniture rather than unique essays. Their URLs remain in the package and now route into the chronological archive. Two pages that depended entirely on dead embedded video also route here.
Formats from another lifetime
The recovered package includes old WMV, WMA, MOV, and Flash files. Modern browsers may download those files instead of playing them. I kept the originals because converting them would create a new derivative and the whole point of this archive is to preserve what actually survived.
