dmb2.jpgRecently Dave Matthews Band grabbed headlines for accidentally dumping the contents of their tour bus septic tank onto a boatload of tourists. [More on the bus fuss] Dirty Dave no doubt had no idea and I am sure he felt sick over the incident, not as sick as sick as those sewage soaked tourists but he had to feel bad. Dave is a good guy and this weekend he got the chance to redeem himself a bit. Dave performed in Golden Gate Park with all proceeds to go to charity. Nice, very nice for all of us. The polo fields were fenced off and a giant stage was erected for the event. Alexis, Andy, Natalie, and I packed our packs and headed out. Traci had a head start since she was working the event so we all made plans to meet up once the show started.

The weather was perfect and we somehow managed to "borrow" some VIP badges and hop a fence so we actually ended up right down in the front. The fence hop had me a little nervous but it went well. I am not the young man I once was and the idea of jumping the fence and missing loomed large. It would go down one of two ways: make the jump and look cool or flub the attempt and slam myself into the barrier in front of the fans only be escorted away by security and medical staff. I took a deep breath, ran and then I sailed over smoothly.

Yes we bought tickets so don't get the wrong idea, there was just all this free space and we didn't want Dave to see this gap in the crowd. It was our duty, hey did you know that they have seat holders at the Oscar's and Grammy's so the audience looks full when the performers and cameras look pan out. Anywho Dave and the band played for like 17 hours and the fans loved every note.

Next week we have the big big Now and Zen show right back at Golden Gate Park. I can hardly wait.

Peace,
Sean
