It was a hot summer night as Alextasy and I speed down the
280 for our rendezvous with America's favorite material girl.
Alextasy worked the internet hard a few months back and secured 9th row
seats and VIP passes. No backstage access but we did enjoy the private
entrance and lounge before the show. Now I was the backup to the
backup for this show, at $700 per seat I was not really expecting to go to
the show but after a few last minute cancellations I was up. I have to
say that the show was very impressive and I could really relate to the tour
theme of reinvention. Over the years Madonna has changed and grown as an
artist even though some of efforts have been less than inspiring. The
important thing is that she kept at it and never gave up on herself.
The two plus hour show was packed with hits and a full on multimedia assault. Video screens, dancers, and a live band made the songs come alive and since this was the closest I would ever get to Madonna I soaked it all in. She is actually smaller than you might think. Up close she looked like she weighed maybe 120lbs and those pounds were tight and toned. She really delivered the goods and the crowd appreciated every number.

I think I have a new appreciation of Madonna and my friend
Alextasy. She has been a fan for many years and she owns almost every
recording. This was indeed a special night for her, she laughed and
even cried tears of joy when Madonna leaned out and sang right to our
section. The whole scene reminded me of those MasterCard ads.
Madonna tickets $700, gas 17.50, making a memory for a lifetime...priceless.
This night is now a shared memory and experience that we can relive whenever
we want. I guess that's the best part of life, enjoying the present
and building great memories. Now go out and make your own memories and
your life will be richer for years to come.
