Global giant AT&T has released a new advertising campaign featuring a man who travels with a stuffed monkey. He takes pictures of the monkey for his daughter and uses the AT&T network to send the pictures to her. This is actually a twist on the old children's story Flat Stanley but I think the idea of using a monkey is unique. Over three years ago Stacey's niece gave me a small stuffed monkey that we named Banana to take on business trips with me. Banana has since been around the globe and appeared in his own YouTube video and even starred in two issues of his own comic book. |

Banana has no ill will towards AT&T or any of its products but he is upset that his story and image were stolen and used in the advertising campaign. He is currently reviewing his options with the crack legal team of Kong and Associates but he felt it important to release the following statement: "I just want to take a minute to explain to my friends around the world that I had nothing to do with the current AT&T commercial. I would never sell my story or license my image. I'm sure AT&T offers fine services provided by fine people but that doesn't mean that I endorse the use of my story or image, I was not even consulted or asked. My pictures and story have been available to the public for over a year and always for free. Hopefully this commercial is not confusing anyone and I hope each of you take the time to set the record straight and keep this monkey's reputation clean."
