Maui Wowee - The pictures are ready from Thanksgiving week in Maui. If you hate breath taking scenery and cute couple pictures please skip this posting. For the rest of you come on and share our new November tradition.
Slightly Stoopid - The name says it all. The band, the crowd, and even the sponsors (Jagermeister?) were all in various stages of stupid. The one redeeming part of the evening was the band. High energy revs mixed with slippery beats and it was all for the fans. They have gotten better since I first saw them at Reggae on the River, too bad their fans haven't.
Gov't Mule - Good old fashioned guitar oriented jams as only Warren Haynes can play them. One of the best shows of 2006, in my humble opinion. The highlight of the show had to be the bands re-working of Fleetwood Mac's "Gold Dust Woman". Pics and review inside.
Tom Petty 25th - It doesn't seem like 25 years ago that I first saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers live, but it has! I'd like to think that we've both gotten better with age and based on last night's show Tom has kept up his end of the bargain.
Freedom of Voice - A little protest, a little reggae, and lots of flag waving. Berkeley is back and session and who better to kick of the semester? Jr. Gong and Ben Harper (and Carlos dropped in too) welcomed the students back this weekend. Concert review and questions plus some extras.
comic books - I bought some really cool software over the holiday week. I spent a few days getting the hang of it and now I am ready to launch my own line of comic books. Behold the first issues from Leftcoastlove Comics.
Renaissance Man - Join me as I celebrate a man who re-defines this term. Drama, music, beverages, and more. Who knew this dude had so much to offer us mere mortals. Disagree if you want but you have been warned.

Root Boy Slim - Back in the 1980's a barrel chested hard drinking slob toured America with a fall down good time rock'n'roll show. Through the magic of the internet and a weekend of rehashing the past with Jim I have been able to create a fine tribute (yes he's dead) that retells one of the best backstage stories I have.
The Killers - Stacey brought her niece to her very first concert. They ended up in the front row for The Killers recent stop in San Francisco. Check out their awesome pictures from the pit.
Simon Says - It's been awhile but music icon Paul Simon has a new album and tour. Friday night Simon said very little but the music spoke in volumes.
Camera Shy - A new digital camera and lazy Sunday yield the following photographic tour of the neighborhood known as the Tenderloin.
Axl is back...- The re-re-re-vamped Guns 'N' Roses rolled into San Francisco last week. I wasn't able to make the show but Stacey did and she took some great pictures. Check 'em out.
715 - Barry Bonds moves past Babe Ruth with home run 715. Join me and the crew for a day of fun in the sun at one of America's greatest ballparks. And to think I was going to stay home and watch the game on TV.
San Francisco Days - and San Francisco Nights: A surprise visit from Mr. San Francisco; Chris Isaak. Then local guitar god Joe Satriani blew up the Warfield. I hate to say it but ...only in San Francisco!
LOVE COMIX - Everything I know I learned from comic books. Apparently I missed some lessons. Join me as I dig through a stack of mid-century texts on the finer points of love and romance.
Family Plan - Spring cleaning time for Leftcoast's digital cameras. Monkey fun, family pics, and a bunch of other stuff that was taking up space on my cameras. My favorite is the pic above! My nephew should be joining the team here very soon.
Alternative Press Expo 2006 - This weekend Stacey dragged me out into the rain to attend the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco. Comic books, artists, public transportation, and beer; I was in.
Bacon Mary - A new tradition is born. The savory goodness of thick cut pancetta, fresh tomato juice, green onions, dill pickle and juice, fresh ginger, and black pepper mixed together with some fine Vodka and shared on a lazy Sunday morning. Behold the Bacon Mary.
