Scooby, Shaggy & Snowy Say “Frenz don’t quit!”
Leftcoast and I hung out last week with a friend of his from Latham, New York who came to visit the gang. Her name is Strawberry Mittens and is now a new occasional contributor who’s bringing the east coast love to the Left. She is absolutely delightful. Sean and Strawberry have know each other since 1982! Talk about ole’ friends. Strawberry and Curious Joe accompanied Leftcoast and I to the “New Orleans by the Bay” at Shoreline Amphitheater. This was Mountain Views answer to Mardi gras! Beads, booze, and boogie-in’ down on the lawn, we was.
Strawberry is my type of girl because she likes to get down, and she doesn’t care what other people think. Curious Joe treated us all to Calamari and Beignets. What a guy! This was his first visit to The Leftcoast Love Compound and first time touring with the Leftcoastlove Entourage. Taj Mahal rocked Mt. View and we even met a new friend Nathan who was looking for his druthers? We roped him into our circle of love for about half the show, and then set him free. I noticed Nathan down on the dance floor, dead center, in front of the stage at the end of the show, shakin it with all the Bayou babes. “Yeah! Go Nathan!!”
After all that good food, and great tunes, and the dancing on the hill, we were beat. But not too tired for a run to ‘In and Out Burger” and then the finale ‘Krispy Kreme’s” for the tour of how all those donuts are made and they even gave us free, hot donuts right off the conveyer belt. After, after all this excitement, The Snowster and Leftcoast needed some R&R. So we had some movie nights, to re-charge the batteries.
Movies are great for just that. No energy required just some comfy couches and some pillows and a plus is a good friend by your side. Being Official Couch Potatoes. We watched “Scooby Doo” and a fav of Sean’s “New Jack City”. Scooby Doo had one of the best nerls (nugget/pearl: message). That was “Friends Don’t Quit”, and isn’t that the truth. Sean and I have taken this vow, to never quit. I never would of thought "Scooby Doo" could have such a profound impact on my friendship with Leftcoast. And other friends, but that is my new motto.
